Alabama Oncology Today, Captain Brian Ward, Paramedic Kelsey Mullins, and EMT Alyson Owens presented a check for $500 to the Alabama Oncology Foundation to support breast cancer treatment in Shelby County.
This money was raised entirely in-house by our members through the sale of our Breast Cancer Awareness shirts during the month of October. Every dollar raised came from our own crews choosing to support a cause that has touched far too many families in our community.
We may spend most of our time answering calls when someone needs help, but serving our community doesn't always involve lights, sirens, or an ambulance. Sometimes it simply means finding another way to take care of the people around us.
We are incredibly proud of our members who purchased shirts, helped spread the word, and made this donation possible. It may be a small contribution in the fight against breast cancer, but it was given with a whole lot of heart.
Thank you to the Alabama Oncology Foundation for the work you do for patients and families right here in our community.
