ā€œWildā€
ā€œHard to catchā€
ā€œUncontrollableā€
Those were the descriptors that came with this horse. But, that’s not what I saw.
I saw a horse that was begging for stability. He was scared. He needed a herd. He needed to find his person.
Ren is exactly the type of horse that gets passed from place to place. He’s the kind of fella someone brings home simply because he’s pretty… but he’s a lot of horse. He has a big personality, and he’s smart… which means he likes to test you to see where your limits are. Here, he has clear boundaries. There are no surprises, just consistency. Meals that come every day. Hay that’s always there. A water trough that’s always full. A herd of his own. And all the lovins his sweet lil heart desires.
Horses like Ren end up in the pipeline every day. We are on a mission to help horses like him.

King MingšŸ’œ
Always looking for someone to share snacks and give scritches!

My best guess is Milk or Rat snake. They love a chip pile or mulch. They’re great mousers, and harmless to people.
l’d have preferred to not have to move them, but they couldn’t stay where they were. It wasn’t a safe place... and if I’m honest, I didn’t want them all through the barnšŸ˜…

It took me way too long to find him!!! What a creep!šŸ˜‚

Ren got to hang with the herd through the fence today! He is so excited to finally make friends!
This is the first step towards being turned out with the boys.

He is such a social fella. Today made my heart so happy. Seeing him grazing next to everyone… you could just feel the happiness and contentment coming off of him. I’m so excited for this fella to finally have a herd of his ownšŸ’œ

Your support makes rescues, like Ren’s, possible. Thank you for believing in us, and our mission to save slaughterbound horses.

Together, we can make a difference.šŸ’œ

In the criminal equine system,
Cannonball related offenses are
typically especially ridiculous.
In Ohio, the dedicated detectives
who investigate these absurd
shenanigans are members
of an elite squad known as the
Special Equine Unit.

These are their stories.

Day ???? of teaching this stallion some manners!🤪
Ren had to spend a little time on stall rest, so feedings looked a little different for him for a bit. Now he’s back out and about, and dude didn’t miss a beat!
He needed one, teeny, reminder, but I’ll take that!!! No pawing. No thievery. No pushing. So very different than the horse that arrived here a little over a month ago! I’m so proud of this sexy beast!šŸ™ŒšŸ¼šŸ’œ

If you’re new here, Ren is our most recent rescue. He came here in July. He is a champagne palomino, quarter horse, stallion.
He was severely underweight, but were working on that! He’s a smart boy with a love bug personality. He’s named after the Styx songšŸ–¤šŸ’›šŸ–¤šŸ’›

We help horses, like Ren, avoid the trip across the boarder. Join us! Check out the links in the bio for ways YOU can help!

Pure joy, brought to you by Renegade🩵
He’s feeling good in his body, and it shows!!!
Thank you for helping us give this boy his joy back… his body back… his life back.
We still have work to do, but this boy is well on his way! -and we have our supporters, like you, to thank. You make rescues, like Ren’s possible.

25,000 horses cross the border for meat processing every year. It is not a humane trip. Overcrowded trucks, no water, no hay. Many die in transport. It’s barbaric.

We’re on a mission to help the horses.

We are small, but mighty. We are building our network of rescues. Join us.

Together, we can make a differencešŸ’œ
