In The Middle is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial assistance to women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. In 2013, I was a prosecutor, supervisor, teacher, wife, and mother of 2...in other words, I was busy living life. Then I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I held strong to the belief that cancer was something to live through, not die from. As I started learning ab

out the treatments and surgeries I was facing, I soon realized that fighting cancer takes more than medicine, doctors, strength, and faith...it takes money, and lots of it. I quickly learned that because I was employed and had insurance, I did not qualify for any financial assistance or aid programs, but I did not make enough to cover all the costs that come with treating breast cancer. In essence, I was financially "in the middle". After I completed treatment, I founded In The Middle, to provide financial assistance to women fighting breast cancer.

Today is !!! So if you are looking to donate to a great, local nonprofit, you found it! We provide financial assistance to breast cancer survivors going through treatment, and every dollar you donate goes directly to helping survivors. We donate chemo bags to survivors filled with things they will need to get them through their specific chemo, as the side effects are different depending on the type of chemo a person receives. We pay bills so survivors can focus on fighting cancer and not worry about their lights being cut off. We fulfill the dreams of Stage 4 survivors who will be fighting for their lives until treatment no longer works. Our mission is to provide financial assistance to breast cancer survivors in South Carolina who are financially “in the middle” which means they are either employed or have health insurance, so they don’t qualify for any assistance programs, but they don’t have enough money to cover all the expense that come with fighting breast cancer.
