Tonight, Midlands Lodge #1 celebrated their 50th Anniversary.

We had members who have been with us for as all of our 50 years and members who have just joined us.

A great time was had by all as well as Melda Scott, the Anniversary Committee Chair and WT Scruggs the inaugural Recording Secretary, cutting the cake with his lovely bride Foxanne.

Before the first pitch, they stopped to remember Officer Christopher DeLong.

The Columbia Fireflies honored Officer DeLong with a moment of silence before today's game at Segra Park, a thoughtful gesture that meant so much to the Columbia Police Department family and, most importantly, to the DeLong family.

As the Columbia Police Department continues to mourn this tremendous loss, moments like this remind us of the community that stands alongside the men and women who serve.

Thank you to Columbia Fireflies President Brad Shank, the entire Fireflies organization, and everyone who took a moment to honor Officer DeLong and support his family.
