Julie had a visit with one of our Community Health Alignment Initiative (CHAI) funded sites, the Browns Ferry Community Outreach-NonProfit team in rural Georgetown County, last week and got to learn firsthand how their trusted relationships result in hundreds of community residents getting the help and support they need. From helping a young mother get stable housing to facilitating a bimonthly seniors exercise and health education group, this team of dynamic Community Health Workers is really making an impact!

Community Health Worker programs need more than strong ingredients. They need support to bring those ingredients together.

Join the Center for Community Health Alignment (CCHA) and envision for an interactive webinar exploring the often-overlooked ingredient in CHW program success: technical assistance (TA).

Health starts long before a doctor’s appointment.

Access to safe housing, nutritious food, and reliable transportation are non medical factors that shape health outcomes every day. When families struggle to meet these basic needs, it becomes harder to stay healthy, manage chronic conditions, and access care.

Community Health Alignment Initiative (CHAI): In 1 year an estimated $7,318,886 was saved by Community Health Workers addressing health and social needs in your communities.

44 CHWs across the state provided 7,470 supportive services to 5,761 uninsured and underinsured individuals. CHAI’s CHW workforce generates a substantial financial value for the Palmetto State while helping families with their unmet health and social needs. Additional funds will allow expansion to additional communities and families, incurring even greater savings.
