Marion County 4-H'ers had an incredible run at the first wave of the MS State Fair Jr. Livestock shows! We are so proud of the time and effort that you put into your livestock projects! More shows to come later this week! Check back for a complete list of Marion County 4-Her placings at the conclusion of the fair.

Marion County 4-H Alumni Spotlight!🍀
Kenny Price, DVM

Kenny Price was a member of Marion County 4-H from 2008-2017 where he participated in shooting sports and showing livestock, mainly cattle. It was showing cattle that inspired Kenny to make livestock part of his career. He began his college career at Mississippi State University in the fall of 2017 where he attained his bachelor's degree in Animal and Dairy Science in December of 2020. Kenny was accepted into Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and began vet school in the summer of 2021. He completed vet school in 2025 and moved to Hattiesburg, MS to serve as a large animal veterinarian at Pine Belt Veterinary Hospital where he enjoys helping the livestock producers around south Mississippi. He credits his time in 4-H for creating in him the desire to pursue a career in helping livestock and livestock producers.

This week as we celebrate National 4-H week, we encourage 4-Hers to find their spark! Marion County 4-H has a lot of great opportunities to get involved including Shooting Sports, Livestock Club, Horse Club, Community Clubs, and many contest that are available throughout the year! Just a couple more weeks until our annual Pumpkin Art Contest! Parents, we hated to see you get left out of the fun last year so this year you can join in with our NEW CATEGORY!! Adults can enter with a $20 fee and winner splits the pot! We know our 4-Hers have plenty of creativity, but we can't wait to see what the adults can do!
