Just want to take a pause and say thank you for your service to all of our Veterans. I also want to share this amazing video of President Obama greeting the veterans on the Honor Flights and I just thought this was so wonderful https://youtu.be/n6Lo1xO7jO8?si=YBcQb0ogU6u1NqI8

The former president welcomed a flight of Korean and Vietnam War veterans and their families ahead of the Veterans Day holiday.

The Power of Listening

Feeling unheard can amplify our worries. In the past few days things seem hectic, confusing and chaotic. Let’s commit to our community by truly listening to one another—especially when we disagree.

What strategies do you use to listen deeply, even in tense conversations?

Let’s Talk About Conflict: What’s one conversation you’ve been avoiding? Maybe it’s a disagreement with a coworker, a tough talk with family, or a misunderstanding with a neighbor.

You’re not alone. Conflict is natural, but avoiding it can make things harder. That’s where we come in.

At the Mediation & Conflict Resolution Center (MCRC), we help people in Howard County have difficult conversations with clarity, respect, and support.

Quick Tip: When approaching a tough conversation, try starting with curiosity instead of assumptions. Instead of:
🚫 “You never listen to me!”
✅ “I feel unheard when this happens—can we talk about it?”

We’d love to hear from you! What’s the hardest part about addressing conflict for you? Drop your thoughts in the comments.
