Scouters from our district meet second Thursday of every month at the Holiday Inn Express on Shinn Lane, at 7 p.m. Please join us! Mark Twain District held a very successful day camp at Camp Oko Tipi today. With 63% of all of our registered Cub Scouts attending we were very pleased with attendance! Big thank you to our Daycamp Director, Dave Crumrine, Program Director, Tina Chidster, and the many adult volunteers who made our camp the very best it could be! Scouts made a wood craft sling game, received a personalized dog tag, did sling shots, shot BB guns and archery, played Gaga ball and participated in team work games, took a nature walk along with a scavenger hunt, made leaf rubbings, and played a huge variety of water games. I dare say the highlight was the visit from Snakeman at lunch! 🐍 We ended the day with a campfire program full of songs, jokes and skits. It was a full and wonderful day!!

Last night the Mark Twain District held its annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner. We might be small but we are mighty leading the council in membership growth last year! Thank you all of our volunteers who are working hard to bring Scouting to Northeast Missouri. Congratulations to those receiving Awards and Special Recognition last night. All of you make our district proud!

Yesterday all of our units in the district had Scouts and Leaders (and parents) who attended the CHART Teen Health Fair. They shared the opportunity of Scouting in Northeast Missouri with about 300 teens. Anyone interested in learning more or joining Scouting is invited to attend our district’s Scout Fun Night coming up on Saturday, February 17 from 5-7pm at the Masonic Lodge in Hannibal. Units from all over NE Missouri will be in attendance. We will have games,challenges, and other activities as well as roast hot dogs and s’mores. A good time is guaranteed!
