We do this by equipping and empowering the local Church to build healthy mentoring relationships.

Our kids in our Group Mentoring site in Lexington had a blast racing to fill their teams bucket with water. The game was part of a lesson we'd been working on throughout the week. We were learning about the kindness Jesus showed the woman at the well, so we wanted to encourage our kids to apply it by being "bucket-fillers" for each other!

Spots are filling up fast! Next week on Tuesday (Lexington) and Thursday (Columbia), we are gathering for a fundraiser centered on fueling the ministry's growth and connecting more people with the mission of mentoring the Midlands.

Every kid deserves a safe, loving mentor who helps them experience Jesus and unlock their God-given potential, so come share a free meal with us, hear from our special guest speaker Dr. Aaron Bishop, and see firsthand how lives are being changed.

One of our 1:1 Mentoring matches has been on an adventure to try new foods. This time, they headed to Columbia's Greek Festival to try some spanakopita and visit the local Greek Orthodox church. Swipe to hear how their adventure went!

Congratulations to Berta Richardson, our Volunteer of the Month! Berta faithfully serves our Lexington Group Mentoring students by preparing snacks each day and thoughtfully ensuring that every child (including those with food allergies) can enjoy a special treat.

Her impact extends far beyond snack time: she regularly provides needed supplies, recruits mentors and guest speakers, connects her church community with opportunities to serve, and helps host special events for our students and families. Berta consistently demonstrates kindness, creativity, dependability, and a genuine servant’s heart. She also makes a point to encourage and care for our staff and she always brings so much fun wherever she serves!

We are incredibly grateful for the many ways Berta loves Jesus, supports Ezekiel’s mission, and helps our children thrive. To celebrate, Zeke, our volunteer appreciation porch goose, is now at her house to recognize an EZE-ceptional volunteer! THANK YOU, BERTA!

Meet our newest 1:1 Mentoring match: Ms. Grace and K. These two ladies first met on our bus headed to our Group Mentoring site in Columbia. K got on the bus and plopped down next to Ms. Grace, said hello, and the two became fast friends.

It started as a quick hello, but together, the two are going to grow in incredible ways. We can't wait to see how K and Ms. Grace flourish together throughout this mentoring relationship.

Let's remember to pray for them as they start this new journey together!

Some encouragement for the weekend:
There are INCREDIBLE kids all around us who can benefit from the loving attention of safe, caring adults. Every child is wonderfully made, full of purpose, and deserves to know they are loved, known, capable, and supported. All it takes from you is a choice to take the time, make the leap, and choose to consistently show up for kids.
