We are focused on improving lives through fellowship in service. Boonslick Kiwanis Club is one of five Kiwanis clubs in Columbia, MO. Organized in 1966, Boonslick is one of the two breakfast clubs. We meet every
Wednesday morning from 7:00 am to 8:00 am in the at the HyVee on Grindstone in the club room upstairs. Our group of more than 45 members likes to have fun and informative meetings. Presentations are varied but always educational. Our club participates in various fund-raising activities in order to provide financial help to needy groups in our community. Some of these activities include a Pancake breakfast, an annual 8K run and a dinner play. We are always looking for new ideas. Kiwanis International joined forces with UNICEF to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. We reached our club goal in 2014 and are proud to be a model club. We are first and foremost a service organization and this is where Kiwanis really shines. We like to volunteer our time to help others. Some of the service projects that we have participated in include working at Lee Elementary school, helping to refurbish the Boys and Girls Club, Clean up Columbia, the Community Nursery School, Rainbow House and helping to clean up the Kiwanis Park to name a few. We also work with Rock Bridge students through Key Club, and the Aktion Club for adults with disabilities.
