At last week's installation, Most Worshipful Brother Keith Bail was presented with the Past Grand Master's jewel that once belonged to MWB Barry V. Cundiff, the very person who appointed him to the advancing line and believed in him from the start.

MWB Cundiff couldn't be there to see it, but was there in spirit.

The mission of the KC Masonic BBQ has always been simple and powerful: send as many veterans as possible on their well‑deserved Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., and give them the welcome home they never received.

Yesterday, that mission came full circle.

Several Ivanhoe brothers, along with a brother from Summit, served as guardians on the flight — walking beside our heroes, hearing their stories, and witnessing firsthand what this journey means. And when that plane touched down back in Kansas City, something extraordinary happened.

The airport was packed — hundreds of family members, friends, Masons, and supporters filling every corner of the terminal. You could feel the emotion before you even saw the first veteran come through the doors.

The stories shared, the memories revisited, the gratitude expressed… it all made the night absolutely beautiful. A welcome home worthy of the heroes who carried our nation on their shoulders.
