This year marks 72 years since the Supreme Court's landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision and the fight for educational justice is far from over.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated's Educational Development Subcommittee of the National Program Planning and Development Committee will host a webinar tonight, May 18, 8–9:30 PM ET, bringing members and allies together to protect and advance federal educational equity protections.

Seventy-two years after the ruling that changed America, we gather at a critical crossroads — ready to advocate, mobilize, and reclaim justice in education.

Day 7 of May Week 💗🎗️

As part of our continued commitment to compassion, service, and community support, the Beaufort Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly presented care baskets to the Keyserling Cancer Center for breast cancer patients currently undergoing chemotherapy treatment.

The BAC Pan Hellenic Committee thoughtfully collected and assembled comfort items including eye masks, lip balm, hand lotion, and snacks to provide encouragement and support to patients during their treatment journey. These small gestures were given with love and intended to bring comfort, care, and moments of peace to those courageously fighting breast cancer.

Through acts of kindness and service, we continue to uplift and support members of our community during times when it matters most.

Day 6 of May Week ❤️🧳

The Beaufort Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. proudly continued its commitment to service by donating travel bags filled with essential toiletries to the Departments of Social Services in Beaufort and Jasper Counties.

These travel bags were thoughtfully prepared for children in foster care, many of whom face unexpected transitions without access to basic personal items. Filled with necessities such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, and other hygiene essentials, each bag served as a reminder that these children are seen, supported, and cared for.

Service is at the heart of who we are, and through initiatives like this, we remain dedicated to uplifting youth and strengthening our communities, one act of kindness at a time. ❤️

This week, we proudly recognize National Nurses Week and Teacher Appreciation Week—two professions grounded in care, commitment, and impact.

To our Sorors who serve as nurses, educators, and in many cases, both—thank you. Your work shapes lives, strengthens communities, and reflects the very best of service in action. We celebrate the care you give, the knowledge you share, and the difference you make every day.

Day 4 of May Week ❤️🎨
Physical and Mental Health:

In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Beaufort Alumnae Chapter proudly supported student wellness by donating art supplies to the four high schools within our service area:

📍Battery Creek High School
📍 Beaufort High School
📍 Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence High School
📍 Whale Branch Early College High School

Each school received $100 worth of supplies, including anxiety-relief and mindfulness coloring books, along with a variety of art materials to encourage creativity and self-expression.

This initiative highlights the importance of art therapy as a tool for enhancing students’ psychological, emotional, and overall well-being. Through activities such as painting, drawing, and creative design, students are empowered to process emotions, reduce stress, and promote mental wellness.

We also honor the memory of Jordan Johnson, a talented young art major whose life and legacy continue to inspire the community. Her impact serves as a reminder of the power of creativity and the importance of supporting youth mental health.

Day 3 of May Week ❤️💎

The Beaufort Alumnae Chapter proudly presented a $1,000 contribution to South Carolina Victim Assistance Network (SCVAN), supporting their commitment to victims of crime across our state.

Through advocacy, education, and vital services like the Crime Victim Information and Service System (CVISS), SCVAN works to ensure victims and witnesses are supported, informed, and empowered. Their impact spans from raising public awareness to advancing policies and providing essential training and resources for those who serve on the front lines.

We are honored to stand alongside SCVAN in amplifying voices, promoting justice, and strengthening our communities.
