Founder’s Day 2025 — Celebrating 90 Years
The NCNW South Carolina State Coalition proudly commemorates the 90th Anniversary of the National Council of Negro Women.
Since 1935, NCNW has stood as a pillar of advocacy, education, health equity, and community empowerment. Today, we honor Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune and the visionary women who built an enduring legacy of service and sisterhood.
May we continue to advance their mission with purpose, unity, and unwavering commitment.

As we approach our 90th anniversary, we honor Dr. Dorothy Irene Height — the Godmother of the Civil Rights Movement. Her strategic leadership and lifelong commitment to Black women, families, and justice continue to guide NCNW’s mission. Her legacy of disciplined service and principled advocacy remains the foundation of our work today.
