When Stephanie was called back for a diagnostic mammogram and breast ultrasound, she wasn't just worried about her health, she was worried about the cost of follow-up care.

Through our Breast Cancer Assistance Program (BCAP), she received financial assistance that helped ease that burden and gave her greater peace of mind.

"I am much more at ease knowing the grant they provided will cover most, if not all, of the cost after insurance."

Every story like Stephanie's is a reminder of why access matters.

Understanding your breast cancer risk starts with knowing what you can and can't control. πŸ’—

While factors like age, family history, genetics, and breast density can't be changed, there are healthy lifestyle choices that may help lower your risk and support your overall well-being. Staying physically active, eating a balanced diet, maintaining a healthy weight, and limiting alcohol are all positive steps you can take.

The most important step? Knowing your personal risk and talking with your healthcare provider about the screening schedule that's right for you. Early detection saves lives, and having a plan can make all the difference. 🩺

If the cost of a mammogram or diagnostic testing is preventing you from getting screened, you don't have to face that barrier alone. ABCF's Breast Cancer Assistance Program helps eligible uninsured and underinsured individuals access the breast health services they need.

True nourishment goes beyond the foods we eat.

Getting enough rest, moving regularly, spending time outdoors, soaking up fresh air, and enjoying balanced meals all contribute to our overall health and well-being.

While no single habit can prevent breast cancer, research continues to show that a healthy lifestyle can help lower risk and support long-term wellness.

As you move through this week, ask yourself: Which nutrient could you use a little more of?
