American Breast Cancer Foundation

American Breast Cancer Foundation The American Breast Cancer Foundation (ABCF) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to ensuring equitable access to breast cancer screening and diagnostics.

The American Breast Cancer Foundation is a national nonprofit making breast cancer screenings accessible for all through financial assistance, education, and compassionate support. Among the many national breast cancer nonprofits, ABCF is one of the few focused solely on reducing financial and systemic obstacles to early detection and care. Through financial assistance, bilingual program navigatio

n, educational resources, and community partnerships, ABCF delivers compassionate, direct support to individuals who might otherwise fall through the cracks. While many organizations focus on cures, ABCF focuses on care—meeting people where they are and turning fear into action with immediate, lifesaving support.

ABCF is expanding access to breast health services through partnerships with imaging centers, cancer centers, and health systems across the country.

As our provider network continues to grow, more eligible individuals can access mammograms, diagnostic imaging, and follow-up testing through participating providers that accept ABCF grant vouchers.

Through our Breast Cancer Assistance Program, we help reduce financial barriers that may prevent someone from receiving the breast health services they need.

We believe that taking the next step toward care shouldn't feel out of reach.

Some moments may seem small at the time, but end up meaning everything 💗

As our Mammograms for Moms campaign wraps up on May 31st, we’re inviting the community to reflect on a mom moment that matters to them.

Whether it’s a memory, a photo, or a simple story, your moments could inspire someone else to prioritize their health or support a loved one.

Feel free to tag us in your post or send us a message if you'd like us to feature your story.

Because more screenings can lead to more moments that matter.

Breast cancer risk is shaped by many different factors over time, including genetics, lifestyle, personal health history, and the environments we live in every day.

Researchers are continuing to study how things like air quality, chemical exposure, and certain everyday products may influence long-term breast health. While this research is still evolving, understanding potential environmental risks can help people make informed choices and feel more empowered when it comes to prevention and early detection.

As part of our Mammograms for Moms campaign, we’re continuing conversations around breast health, awareness, and access to care because staying informed is only one part of the picture. Regular screenings, knowing your family history, and talking with your healthcare provider remain some of the most important steps you can take to support your breast health and help protect more moments still ahead.

Learning about breast health should feel clear, not overwhelming. 💗

Comment “LEARN” and we’ll send you our full blog with more on environmental exposure and breast cancer risk.

More Mom Moments start with something as small as $15 💗

A mammogram is more than a screening. It can mean more phone calls on the way home, more advice from Mom, more holidays, and more everyday moments with the people we love most.

But for too many women, access to potentially life-saving breast cancer screening and diagnostic care is still out of reach because of financial barriers, lack of access, or circumstances beyond their control.

That’s why every donation matters.

For just $15, you can help move someone one step closer to the care they need. One small act of generosity can help remove a barrier between a woman and an important screening appointment.

To all who have supported Mammograms for Moms this May, thank you. 💗

Because of this incredible community, we’ve raised:
• Over $300 in honor of Martha Battoe, Eileen Coiante, and Jacque Loney
• Over $700 through the Paddles Up: Pickleball for Prevention Tournament with Dill Dinkers - St. Petersburg, FL
• Over $900 in online donations

Every donation, fundraiser, and act of support is helping move more women closer to the screenings, answers, and care they deserve. Together, we’re helping create access to earlier detection and more time for the moments that matter most.

And with May not over just yet, there’s still time to help make more mom moments possible through the link in comments.

Today, we honor and remember those who gave their lives in service to our country, and we hold deep gratitude for what that sacrifice protects. 🇺🇸

During our Mammograms for Moms campaign, we'd like to take a moment to honor all of the mothers (and mother figures) that have served, along with their families who carry both love and loss with them today.

It’s a reminder of how fragile and meaningful time can be, because time with the people we love is never something we can take for granted. 💗

Why she waits… for a mammogram.

In most cases, it is not just one reason that leads to delay. It is the cost of care coming after rent, groceries, and other daily essentials. It is the challenge of transportation when clinics are far away or reliable options are limited. It is the uncertainty of insurance coverage and whether a routine screening will be financially possible.

For many women, it is also caregiving. When she is focused on caring for everyone else, her own health often gets placed at the bottom of the list. And sometimes, it is fear. The uncertainty of what might be found, and not feeling emotionally ready to face it alone.

These are not small barriers. They are real, and they add up over time.

This is why access matters and why care should not have to wait.

Share this with someone who may need the reminder, or save it for when you do. 💗

We’re proud to spotlight the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit, a valued partner in our Community Partnership Program helping expand access to early detection and community-based care.

As the only National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center in southeast Michigan, and one of just 57 in the country, Karmanos brings together advanced research, specialized treatment, clinical trials, and a multidisciplinary approach to cancer care.

Their focus is on making sure patients have the full range of resources and support they need throughout their care journey.

Through this partnership, we help provide financial assistance for breast cancer screenings and diagnostic testing, making care a little more accessible for uninsured and underserved individuals.

At the heart of it, this work is about helping more people get answers earlier and removing barriers that stand in the way of care.

More Mom Moments start with access.

For many women, getting a mammogram isn’t just about showing up, it can come down to cost, timing, and whether care is actually within reach. Your support helps change that.

Here’s what your gift can help make possible:
• $15 helps move someone closer to the care they need
• $250 helps fund one mammogram for a woman who might otherwise delay or go without
• $500 helps provide mammograms for two women

Every contribution helps remove one more barrier between a mother and the care she needs.

And behind each screening is what we’re really working to protect, more time, more certainty, more of the everyday moments that matter: mom hugs, birthday wishes, and life continuing without interruption.

If you’re able, you can support more Mom Moments via the link in comments.
