We're inspired by these words from our Director of Culture and Values, Ericka Wooten, as we conclude our series:
“A South Carolina without poverty is a place where every person's God-given dignity is recognized, where equity is practiced, where diversity is seen as a gift, and where belonging is a lived reality. It's a state where a person’s zip code no longer predicts life expectancy; where being unhoused, uninsured, or economically exploited is a thing of the past. It's a South Carolina where opportunity depends not on luck or ancestry, but on a shared birthright.”
Let's continue fighting for the dignity of every South Carolinian–because that should always be a reality, not just a dream.
