We're inspired by these words from our Director of Culture and Values, Ericka Wooten, as we conclude our series:

“A South Carolina without poverty is a place where every person's God-given dignity is recognized, where equity is practiced, where diversity is seen as a gift, and where belonging is a lived reality. It's a state where a person’s zip code no longer predicts life expectancy; where being unhoused, uninsured, or economically exploited is a thing of the past. It's a South Carolina where opportunity depends not on luck or ancestry, but on a shared birthright.”

Let's continue fighting for the dignity of every South Carolinian–because that should always be a reality, not just a dream.

As we round out our series, we want to thank everyone for their input as we've celebrated our 30th anniversary.

Everyone has a dream. When we dream together, that's really when we start to get things done.

Tiger Wells, a member of our Board of Trustees, says, "I imagine it would look like a land where 'the haves' are not enslaved by their possessions but rather are empowered and motivated to relieve suffering. It would look like a land where even the 'have nots' have enough.”

Here’s what our team is reading this year! 📚

Our Growing in GRace sessions, led by our Director of Culture and Values, Ericka Wooten, bring our staff and Board of Trustees together to reflect on our annual group read.

These sessions have been incredibly impactful—creating space to ask honest questions, dig deeper, and uncover meaningful insights together.

So far, Legacy by Uché Blackstock has been so moving and offers a powerful perspective as we explore the relationships our healthcare system and systemic racism.
