When our laws and policies work for us, our communities win. Nonprofits have a close-up view of community needs and can and should take advantage of their right to influence law and policy.

After this workshop, you will have a clear understanding of what advocacy activities your 501(c)(3) can engage in, what communications count as lobbying, and how to maximize your non-lobbying advocacy.

We're excited to partner with the South Carolina Tenant Union and support its work to strengthen the voices and power of tenants across our state.

By organizing and advocating alongside renters, the Tenant Union is working to challenge the systems and policies that shape housing stability and opportunity.

South Carolina Tenant Union is being funded for their statewide impact under our focus area of housing security, while their Systems Change Grant category is Addressing Unequal Power!

Meet one of our new Systems Change Grantees: Affordable Housing Coalition of South Carolina! 🏠

Affordable Housing Coalition of South Carolina works to create, preserve, and improve affordable and workforce housing for South Carolinians while bringing developers, community leaders, and community voices together.

Fun fact: Earlier this year, the Coalition and SC Housing brought back the Affordable Housing Summit for the first time in eight years, creating a much-needed space for advocates to come together around the housing challenges and opportunities facing our state!

Affordable Housing Coalition of South Carolina is being funded for statewide work within the SCFSC focus area of housing security, while their Systems Change Grant category was Participating in Advocacy and Lobbying!

We're grateful to partner with the Coalition as they work to strengthen housing systems and build a state where safe, affordable housing is not a dream, but a reality.

We're thrilled to support the United Steelworkers's Chester Worker Empowerment Center. The Center creates space for workers and community members to build power, strengthen economic opportunity, and work toward a more equitable future in Chester County.
