I don't know if anyone is really still actively viewing this page, but I wanted to say thank you for all the great times we had together in the past. I haven't seen many of you for several years but you will always be locked in my memory as our having had some great times serving the community together. Like many of you, I still remeber and miss Kentrell very much. I'm going to unplug from the page now. If any of you would like to stay connected with me you can find me on the Grade A Plus Program page or under my own name page. God bless you and I wish you all love and happiness for years and years to come. -Dr. (Rev.) Janice Dawson-Threat.

Throughout Black History Month we will be recognizing some incredible Black women who served our community with distinction but left us too soon. We begin with the indefatigable Almeta Crayton (1959-2013). If Almeta's only contribution to the community was her annual Thanksgiving "Everybody Eats" event - an event that fed hundreds upon hundreds of families each year - that alone would make her worthy of high honors in our community's history. But she was much more than that. She represented the First Ward on the Columbia City Council for nine years. In that role she worked tirelessly to help her central city constituents receive the solutions they needed, always "paying it forward", and as she liked to say, "Telling it like it is." Her legacy lives on today through Almeta Crayton's Community Programs

Jan. 25-29th, 2021 is Enrollment week for new students to join the award-winning Grade A Plus After School On-Line Tutoring and Mentoring Service. We can't reach some of the children in the neighborhoods because of COVID. Please share this post with families you know are seeking help and support for their youth to succeed in school.

This program was recognized in 2020 by the 's Grove and Business Alerts with the "Kindness to Youth Award" and the 2020 Missourian Progress in Excellence Award as the "Progress in Education" recipient. These awards tell you this is a quality program committed to serving children and families seeking academic success in and out of school. Pass the word, it's not too late to sign your child up for this quality service.

ACCP would like to sincerely thank our community family for their efforts to come together in this new year to fill the void and make sure that this day continues to be honored and celebrated. While we are still in mourning and our organization is undergoing changes, we want to make sure that we also honor our visionaries in the name of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Almeta and Kentrell would be proud that in our absence, this community that they love so much is still able to help one another and remain strong. We want to encourage all our community family to continue to support one another and know that we will be back in action very soon. We thank our community partners and supporters for their faith in us and the work we do and we want to let everyone know that we love and appreciate the outpouring of kindness and respect we have received these past couple of months and we promise to continue to return that love very soon. God Bless You All!

On behalf of Almeta Crayton’s Community Programs, the Board of Directors would like to thank everyone in the community for their outpouring of love and support after the passing of our founder and CEO, Kentrell Minton. Our Columbia family really has pulled together over the last month to help us make Everybody Eats a success for this year despite our personal tragedies and societal challenges, and for that we are grateful.

As we move forward, the Board of ACCP remains dedicated to our mission of Community Helping Community, however at this time we will be suspending our programs for the remainder of 2020 as we assess and review the future of the organization’s affairs.

Currently we are considering the possibility of moving forward in January 2021 with our annual Poor Man’s Breakfast, however that decision has not yet been made and unfortunately we will not be participating in community activities for the Holiday 2020 season at this time. We know that while this means the need is still present, we ask in the spirit of Kentrell and Ms. Almeta that the community pulls together now more than ever to help one another as present times call for unity and support for each other.

We hope to greet you all fresh in the new year.

Anthony Crayton, President
