Boone County Presiding Commissioner Kip Kendrick, District I Commissioner Justin Aldred, and District II Commissioner Janet Thompson presented a proclamation to BCFR staff recognizing National Case Management Week in Boone County!

BCFR is proud to have been the first county-based case management team in Missouri. Today, our team of Support Coordinators serves nearly 2,300 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

Our Support Coordinators work alongside individuals, families and community partners to create person-centered plans, connect people with services and help them work toward their goals and vision for a good life.

This work takes compassion, flexibility, teamwork and dedication, and we’re so grateful for the people who make it happen every day. Thank you to our Support Coordinators for helping the people we support Thrive, Connect and Achieve! 💙

No school on October 16? We’ve got a plan! Our next All Day Workshop for high school age to early 20s is all about learning real-life skills and building independence.

We’ll have a local landlord, someone from the Missouri Job Center - Columbia, and a guest from the Columbia Farmers Market joining us to share helpful information and answer questions.

When: Friday, October 16 from 9 AM–4 PM
Where: BCFR Main Office, 2700 West Ash Street
Cost: FREE for all BCFR clients, ages teens to young 20s are welcome

➡️ Participants will need to bring a lunch.

Know someone who could benefit? Have them reach out to their Support Coordinator to get a referral. We’d love to have them join us!

Last week’s BCFR Annual Picnic at the MU Health Care Pavilion was one for the books! We had a beautiful day filled with good food, lots of smiles, friendly faces, and plenty of time to catch up with the people who make this event so special year after year.

A huge THANK YOU to Columbia Elks Lodge 594 for sponsoring the food and helping make this longtime BCFR tradition possible! 🍔🌭
