New Vision, Same Mission!
2 years ago I took a huge leap of faith and decided to open my own gym because no other gym and I would hire me. I knew that I could not only help people reach their goals in their fitness goals but help them become a better them in life, period.
After spending eight and a half years of in prison with, I was released in 2016 with no place to live, no car and very little family support-- three months later 2 Real Fitness LLC was formed. I had absolutely nothing but my strong desire to succeed and help others do the same.
Of course, my first priority with my company was to create enough revenue to provide my family with a place to live, and the stability they needed to be the best them. I also wanted to prove to myself and the rest of the world that I and others like me could be successful regardless of past mistakes or current circumstances. Though I faced dealt with some really tough times and wanted to quit numerous times giving up was no option. While working two jobs, going to college, being a father, I also found time to manage every task of 2 Real Fitness LLC, including training clients, marketing, building my companies brand, networking and building positive relationships in both the business world and my community.
After only 2 years of being home from prison and opening my own gym, I had managed to become one of the most talked about persons in Columbia, being featured in countless articles, television shows, and radio shows, but there still existed avoid within me, because, I still wasn’t doing the work I knew I could be doing. I remember reading Fredrick Douglass’s autobiography, and not being able to get passed time talking about how he could never be a “free” person if his brother or sister were not “free” as well. Although I’m no Fredrick Douglass and I know I can’t help everyone, I believe my vision can change a lot of lives.
