The Junior Buffalo Soldier Leadership Academy (JBSLA) is a non-profit organization with a program and mission designed to examine and foster the needs, concerns and welfare of our youth and the community. The JBSLA provides the basis and ideal environment for ethical decision making, while instilling strong values and morals that will serve our students for a lifetime. We believe that through posi

tive experiences we can help prepare our young people become responsible caring adults; the activities in place are designed to instill the importance and significance of becoming a valued influence in society. Healthy youth development is the foundation for the success of the JBSLA Personal Responsibility Value System which is designed to instill and reinforce the principles of self-worth, leadership, character, and social adeptness in our boys and girls. Our mentors and counselors are committed to a program that provides support and leadership to the surrounding communities in an attempt to change the negative actions and/or perceptions of our children’s capabilities, beliefs, and expectations. We are dedicated to our agenda, written and executed by the JBSLA (with help of other community organizations), which ultimately promotes overall personal development enhancing each participant intellectually, physically, socially, spiritually, emotionally, and culturally.
