Since our beginning in 1985, Central South Carolina Habitat for Humanity has helped more than 275 families and individuals across the Midlands realize the dream of homeownership. Our candidate homeowners are chosen based upon need, ability to pay an interest free mortgage, and willingness to partner with our ministry in performing 300 hours of service. This service includes participating in constr

uction of Habitat houses, completing a required series of 13 workshops which emphasize homeownership and taking part in financial counseling. Our ability to provide affordable housing depends upon financial support from donors and volunteer labor for construction. We also recycle funds from our interest free mortgages into construction of new homes.

Volunteers are needed starting June 4. We’re building two new homes in Columbia, SC and need 40 volunteers each day, Wednesday through Saturday, to help two families move in by the holidays.

No experience required. Just a willing heart. This is how we put God’s love into action.
