Richard Williams was a roofer by trade but a musician at heart. After a fall on the job broke his back, five major surgeries and a long, painful recovery took a toll on him physically and emotionally. When doctors recommended another surgery, Richard wasn’t sure he could face the pain and isolation again.
Then a rehabilitation instructor suggested EverTrue PACE. Richard wasn’t sure what to expect, but he soon found something he had been missing: a sense of belonging.
"When I got here, that’s when I found out that I didn’t have to give up on people," he said. "It made me feel like I was welcome. Like a family here."
With support from the team at EverTrue PACE, Richard became more active and connected and found his way back to writing poetry and songs.
