Today, we had the opportunity to be at the table alongside so many incredible organizations, engaging in meaningful conversations about supporting children and families across our state.

We are so grateful for the work that Children’s Trust of South Carolina does all year long—and especially during Child Abuse Prevention Month. 🩵 We’re honored to be part of these important conversations and to work together toward stronger communities.

We are so grateful for the opportunity to be part of Care Cola’s monthly education event!

Our Clinical Services Coordinator, Cindy P. Painter, LPC/S-Candidate and TBRI® Practitioner, had the privilege of presenting: Serving Adoptive and Foster Families with TBRI®, to a wonderful group of professionals committed to supporting children and families.

Together, we explored practical ways to apply TBRI® principles in everyday interactions, equipping attendees with tools to foster connection, support regulation, and create environments where children and families feel safe, seen, and supported.

Thank you, Care Cola, for inviting us to be part of this meaningful day of learning and collaboration. We are always grateful for opportunities to share, connect, and continue building stronger communities for children and families across South Carolina. 🩵

🍎A Connected Start to the School Year🍎

One of the greatest gifts we can give children as they head back to school is helping them feel safe, connected, and prepared.

As you get ready for the new school year, remember these TBRI®-informed tips:

💚 Connect before the school day begins.
A few intentional minutes together—a hug, words of encouragement, or talking through the day ahead—can help children leave home feeling secure and confident.

🧠 Talk through what to expect.
Whether it's a new teacher, a new classroom, or a new routine, preparing children for what's ahead helps reduce anxiety and creates a greater sense of predictability.

💧 Meet physical and sensory needs.
A good night's sleep, a nourishing breakfast, water, and opportunities for movement all support a child's ability to regulate and engage in learning.

⏰ Practice routines before school starts.
Morning routines, bedtime, and even walking through the first day can make transitions feel less overwhelming and set everyone up for success.

🌱 Remember that adjustment takes time.
Some children may jump right in, while others need a little longer to feel comfortable. Offer patience, stay curious about behavior, and keep the relationship at the center.

When children feel safe, seen, and supported, they're better able to learn, grow, and thrive.

✨ Here's to a school year filled with connection, trust, and learning!
