Adrianne Grimes is the Director of Marketing & Communications for the South Carolina Research Authority (SCRA), where she has a front-row seat to the groundbreaking technologies transforming our state's economy β from innovative feeding systems for premature babies at MUSC to 3D-printed earpieces improving music therapy for seniors. SCRA's work brings new products and services to market while simultaneously creating higher-paying jobs across South Carolina.
And Adrianne isn't just telling that story β she's helping build it.
In a testament to her vision and leadership, Adrianne founded Innovation Awareness Month, which received a Governor's Proclamation in 2023 and is now celebrated annually by colleges, universities, hospital systems and entrepreneurial organizations statewide.
Before SCRA, Adrianne served at MUSC Health, where she launched the South Carolina Telehealth Alliance brand β an integrated telemedicine model serving rural South Carolina. Her PR and marketing strategies earned back-to-back best-in-class awards from the Carolina Healthcare Public Relations and Marketing Society in 2018 and 2019.
Her career spans decades of high-impact work β from television news affiliates in the late '80s and '90s, to Capitol Hill, where she managed U.S. congressional campaign communications and transition team communications leading into swearing-in events. She also managed campaign communications during the 2012 U.S. Presidential Primary.
A proud Gamecock, Adrianne holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina and a Master of Science from The Citadel Graduate College. She remains deeply rooted in her community through board service, volunteer PR work and membership in the Greater Charleston Chapter of Top Ladies of Distinction.
