Hello, Iris Friends, our next meeting is scheduled for this Saturday, March 14 2026 at 2 pm at 1605 Park Circle. Our speaker will be Janice Hull (club member), longtime member, Iris Judge, artistic design judge and former owner of Seven Oaks Garden Center. She has her own greenhouses. Janice will lead us in an open discussion on container gardening. I'm sure we will all learn about potting Iris. We will have a raffle if you would like to donate an item, it will help us to fund our shows. Food and drink will not be provided so if you want something you will need to bring your own.

Hope to see you there and check your Iris's as some are already budding.

Our next Iris Meeting is Saturday, January 10 2026, The Garden Club Council Building, 1605 Park Circle, Columbia SC. The meeting is scheduled for 2 pm. The program will be on preparing your Irises for the spring. You are welcomed to bring a snack to share and a raffle item. Please be prepared as it is time for club membership dues which are $15.00. We also need to address the officers for the 2026 year per our by-laws. Keep Weeding!!! Nancy

This Coming Saturday is our next meeting. November 8, 2025 at 2:00PM. We will meet at the Garden Club Council Building (1605 Park Circle). This meeting we will have a guest speaker Rich Crider. He is the owner of Three Shovels Farm. (500 Hummingbird Road, St Matthews) If you have not been to Three Shovels Farm, it is amazing. Rich is one of our Iris Society club members. He will be giving a program on "Japanese Iris" . I'm sure it will be educational and wonderful. Rich knows his stuff!! Also we should have a few new people coming to this meeting so let's be sure we welcome all guests and mabe bring a light snack. Hope to see you folks Saturday!! Keep growing those Iris 🙂 Nancy

South Carolina Iris Show April 26

The next South Carolina Iris Meeting is March 15, 2025 at 2:00 pm. We will be meeting at the Garden Club Council Building: 1605 Park Circle, Columbia We have an exciting speaker Nancy Cook. At the last Iris show Nancy won the Bronze Metal by having the second most blue ribbons. Her Iris are amazing and she will give the program on "Preparing your Irises for Show"
Let's have a large turn out to support our speaker. Also we will need to discuss Show preparation. Raffle Items welcome. Hope to see you there:)

WHY Join the SC Iris Society? We meet 9 to 10 times a year. Each meeting we have a program teaching us about Iris, we have hybytizers, Iris judges to answer any question you have about Iries. Also once you're a club member you can join the Garden Club Council meeting each month without paying any extra fees. Each month the Garden Club Council has wonderful educational programs and extra activities.

At our next Iris club meeting we have a program on how to prepare your Iris for Spring. Also please remember to bring for "Iris/Garden related Item" to help assemble our basket for the Garden Club Fundraiser. Raffle items are welcome. Hope to see you there!!!

Wow, the year has shot by fast! It's Christmas time! Everybody ready? I'm not, but join me (US) December 14, 2024 at Ocean View Seafood and Steaks at 1000 Knox Abbott Drive for our Iris Holiday Gathering. (11 to 1) You get a wonderful meal, a short meeting and visit with iris experts and novices. Who knows, you may even get into the holiday spirit. It's optional, bring a $20.00 gift (garden related) for the Chinese exchange. Hope to see you there 🧑‍🎄
