For the second year in a row, Do Something Right Now has had the incredible privilege of partnering with the family and friends of JR Albers to honor his blessed memory through meaningful impact.
Last year, on JR’s birthday—April 2nd—we celebrated by opening the first of three freshwater wells in rural Nepal, providing clean, healthy water to 100 families. JR loved people deeply and believed that every one of us can do something (right now) in someone’s life to make a difference. We continue to echo what he stood for.
This year, we were presented with a new and exciting opportunity to transform lives.
“We believe God is calling us to start a five-month sewing school training program for women in our community who are in desperate need of hope and a sustainable livelihood. This program is designed for widows, single mothers, and women from tribal and marginalized communities who struggle every day to provide for their families. Through this training, we will not only teach them a valuable skill that will allow them to become self-employed, but also create a safe environment where they can experience the love of God and one another. Our mission is to care for both their physical and spiritual needs.”
— Pastor Santosh
Through this fundraiser, we were able to purchase 15 new sewing machines and officially launch the five-month sewing school in rural Kudiya Village, Nepal.
These machines and this training program will serve as the foundation for new businesses and sustainable livelihoods for these women and their families.
Pastor Santosh recently shared this message with us:
“We are writing this message with hearts overflowing with gratitude and joy. We are so blessed and deeply thankful for your prayers, love, and generous support. Because of your faithfulness and the grace of God, we have been able to start our sewing school.
It is truly a dream come true. We will never forget your tremendous support in building the training center, and now your generous support for the sewing school is changing lives. It is an incredible blessing.
Our students come from very difficult backgrounds and travel from different villages to attend. For them, this is not just a class—it is a great privilege and a life-changing opportunity to learn a skill and become self-dependent. Many are filled with hope for the first time.
Thank you again for your prayers, love, and support. We are so grateful. Please continue to remember us in your prayers.”
Thank you for being part of this mission. Together, we are carrying forward JR’s legacy—doing something right now that will impact generations to come!
