Columbia to be featured in a national webinar!
For the past 10 years, the Columbia Homeless Court has operated at the Transitions Homeless Center as a specialized court when homelessness, substance abuse and mental health cross paths with the criminal justice system. This process connects people with complex needs to the resources and opportunities needed for overcoming barriers. They have compassionately guided individuals to long-term success through their support.

On June 24th, this specialized court process will be featured in a national webinar that discusses the effective challenges and approaches of homeless and care courts.

The Salvation Army of the Midlands is extremely grateful for the dedicated community members who continue to fight for the well-being and healing of everyone.

To show support or learn more on the framework and data trends of these specialized court programs are helping individuals overcome the obstacles of housing, employment, and recovery, register with this link: https://prainc.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_RnOXbjX7QjycsYnttKSl1Q #/registration

Recently, The Salvation Army of the Midlands and Rapid Shelter Columbia celebrated the first graduates of the K.I.T.C.H.E.N. program! 🎓❤️

Through this partnership, shelter residents participate in a six-week workforce development program focused on food preparation, food handling, and hospitality training, leading to a ServSafe certification.

More than a certification, this program provides encouragement, job readiness, and opportunities for long-term stability as participants move forward on their journey.
Congratulations to these graduates on this incredible accomplishment — we are proud of you!
