If you like to get sweaty and dirty AND mine your own geodes, this annual event is well worth your time! Anytime the local law enforcement will shut down the roads and es**rt your vehicle caravan to the next digging site you know you are in the right spot! 😎

Geode Family Fest, a fun weekend of guided geode hunts, being with other rock enthusiasts and shopping at the vendor area.

We have a TON of COOL caves here in Missouri and in fact we are widely known as “The Cave State”. The “W**e Table” is certainly well worth your trip through Meramec Caverns!! What is your favorite cave in Missouri? ⚒️

Inside a Missouri cave sits a rock formation that geologists say doesn't exist anywhere else on Earth, a six-foot stone table balanced on three natural legs. 🍇

Known as the W**e Table, it formed almost entirely underwater over thousands of years inside Meramec Caverns, a cave system that's existed for over four hundred million years and was once used by Native Americans for shelter long before tourists ever arrived. Grape-like clusters of stone called botryoids cover the surrounding walls, which is actually where the room earned its nickname. Scientists still can't fully explain why this exact formation only occurred once, making it genuinely unique geology found nowhere else in the world.
