You are invited to a Mid-America Dharma Retreat that will be held at Show Me Dharma and online with Dharma Teacher Bridget Rolens.
The title of the retreat is "Liberation Through Non-Clinging" and will be held Thursday, September 17 through Sunday, September 20, 2026.
This is a non-residential hybrid retreat in-person at Show Me Dharma, 1600 West Broadway, Columbia and online via ZOOM.
In his search for a common thread that weaves through the various Buddhist traditions (Theravada, Mahayana, Vadrayana, etc.) Joseph Goldstein found that non-clinging is a central piece of understanding liberation from suffering.
He said that he “began to see non-clinging as a way to talk about what actually frees the mind, what quality in the mind or what factors in the mind lead to liberation rather than getting attached to any particular method or tradition for getting there.”
Using the practice of Insight Meditation, we will each see for ourselves the relationship between “clinging” and our own suffering; and how we can experience liberation through non-clinging.
The retreat will support a continuity of mindfulness through formal sitting and walking meditation, mindful eating, mindful movement, dharma talks and group discussion.
Registration closes on September 14, 2026. Register here:
