Columbia, SC Friends of the Homeless See, Identify, Confront, and Relieve. See the people where they are, Identify the need, Confront the problem head on, Relieve hunger when we can

Friends of the Homeless was envisioned approximately 5 years ago after witnessing an important revival message regarding a particular impoverishered society. It was then that the inspiration immediately set in. At the same time, we were experiencing a massive problem with homelessness in Columbia. This message was received and embraced to meet the needs associated with hunger among the homeless ve

terans. A plan was set out to address the problem and has recently become a reality. We have begun to provide lunch time meals to the homeless (not limited to veterans) on the streets of Columbia. Short and long term goals have been established and support has increased daily since the initial lunch was delivered on November 11, 2009. More than 500 lunches delivered to date.

FOTH Update: Beginning January 2015, evening Meas will be served at 3 locations in our effort to ensure the homeless population get to enjoy at least one hot meal daily. An additional location will be added each month until we reach our goal of 15 locations.

Almost forgot to thank Terry and all the members of Bethlehem Baptist Church for all their gifts for the homeless and also my coworkers. All of you are the greatest.
