Today, we remember all the men and women in uniform, along with their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our safety and freedom as a nation.

Today is Memorial Day 2026. As a federal holiday, it honors U.S. military personnel who died in service. It marks the traditional, unofficial start of summer, often celebrated with parades, family gatherings, and community events.

JWC Columbia wants to celebrate our unicorn-in-chief, Tiffany for her fabulous leadership as our President for the 2024-2026 Administration.

Under her leadership, JWC Columbia expanded its social media presence, continued leadership development of its members, and provided an atmosphere for members to be involved in creating public policy and legislation ideas to help women and children to be safe in the community.

She also helped the members of JWC Columbia embrace the spirit and pride in being a GFWC-SC Junior Clubwoman during her administration.

She also encourages members embrace and participate in collaborative environment with other GFWC-SC Clubwomen to provide excellent community service to fellow citizens in Columbia and surrounding areas.

Most importantly, Tiffany provided an fun and positive atmosphere where each member got to shine in personal growth through individual talents!

Thank you Tiffany for your leadership in allowing each member to become thier own fabulous unicorn!πŸ¦„βœ¨οΈπŸ’•

The Junior Woman’s Club of Columbia is thrilled to announce that our very own Katie Moydell received the 2025 Carol Van Roland & Susan Van Haynes Junior Clubwoman of Achievement Award at the GFWC-SC State Convention in Myrtle Beach this past weekend.

Katie is a shining example of the positive impact of a GFWC Clubwoman. Her journey began with JWC Columbia in 2009, where she served as President from 2013-2014. Her leadership extended across the GFWC-SC, serving as Director of Junior Clubs from 2014-2018, Midlands District President, and Chairman of several key committees, including Fundraising and Advocates for Children.

Most notably, Katie served as the 36th GFWC International Director of Junior Clubs from 2022-2024. Her "Share Your Sparkle" campaign led to her creation of the GFWC Junior Leadership Certification program, ensuring young women worldwide can reach their leadership potential.

Beyond GFWC, Katie is dedicated to the Columbia youth through her work with Palmetto Place Children & Youth Services. She has served as Board President from 2017-2019, which she helped plan and execute a million-dollar renovation campaign. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Palmetto Place.

Her many honors include the Millie Crom Gold Award of Excellence (2016 &2017) and being named Outstanding Director of Junior Clubs, Category 4 (2014).

While her list of achievements is extensive, we are most inspired by her grace, humility, and fierce love for her family and community.

Congratulations, Katie! We are so proud of you!! πŸ₯°πŸ’“πŸ™ŒπŸ»πŸ‘ΈπŸΌπŸŽ‰πŸŽŠβœ¨οΈ
