June marks the end of an extraordinary chapter of leadership for Justice John Cannon Few, who has served as Chair of the South Carolina Access to Justice Commission since 2017.

At our May 28 Commission meeting, we celebrated Justice Few's years of service and his unwavering commitment to expanding access to justice across South Carolina. Throughout his distinguished career—as an attorney, educator, judge, and Justice of the South Carolina Supreme Court—he has exemplified dedication to public service and the rule of law.

We are deeply grateful for his leadership, guidance, and lasting impact on the Commission's work.

Thank you, Justice John Cannon Few!

Research consistently shows that people have better outcomes when they have legal representation.

Yet most go without.

Lawyers, nonprofits, courts, and community members all play a role in improving access to justice. Your pro bono work could make all the difference for a family.

When one person can’t resolve a legal issue, it affects families, workplaces, and entire communities.

In civil cases, many people must navigate the legal system on their own. It’s complex, overwhelming, and often unsuccessful.

We want to make it better ⚖️ www.scaccesstojustice.org

Eviction. Domestic violence. Claim & delivery.

In many civil courtrooms, one side has a lawyer, and the other doesn’t. That imbalance impacts outcomes and fairness.

The legal system exists for everyone, but access to it is not equal.

We’re working to change that.
