Your commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and preparing the next generation of agricultural leaders continues to make South Carolina proud. Keep up the great work and congratulations to the students, faculty, staff, and supporters who made this achievement possible! 🌱🚜👏

Great news! The SC Department of Education has awarded SCGSA an EXCELLENT report card.

In fact, this isn't the first time but the 4th year in a row.

Dr. Keown had these kind words to share about the effort it takes to achieve this top tier status.

"Receiving a 93/100 on our school report card exhibits the quality of education our students receive from our highly qualified teachers and support staff. Additionally, we truly value the leadership from our board of trustees and our parents who are our partners in the educational experience for our amazing Aggies! I’m honored to serve as the President of the Nation’s only publicly funded, residential high school, that is devoted to training the next generation of leaders in the fields of agriculture, forestry, natural resources, and leadership."

Principal Smith added,

"We are so proud of all the SCGSA faculty and students for this accomplishment. We could never quantify the transformative experiences our students have here with a number, but we are certainly thankful to be able to acknowledge the hard work in and out of the classroom that brought us to this moment. Go Aggies!"

From precision farming and data-driven decision-making to emerging innovations that are transforming how we grow, manage, and sustain our agricultural resources, the event highlighted the incredible opportunities ahead for producers, researchers, students, and industry leaders.

Thank you to the speakers, organizers, and participants who made this event a success. The future of agribusiness is bright, and events like this help ensure that our industry remains at the forefront of innovation.

Recently, PABC's CEO, Kate Maroney, attended the 2026 State Agribusiness Council Conference in Puerto Rico.

"Puerto Rico is a beautiful island with deep roots in agriculture and trade. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to meet with agribusiness council leaders and industry representatives from across the United States to discuss policy and what matters most to agribusiness."

"Apples" by Jacqueline Farmer is a book that supports agricultural literacy for young readers grades K-5.

Today, the average American consumes about sixty-five fresh apples each year. Where do so many apples come from? How do they grow? This book takes young readers on a field trip to the apple orchard to find out how apple growers produce the many different varieties of America's favorite fruit. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Gamble Family Farms for graciously hosting our fourth stop on the PABC Tour. Jason Gamble, the steward of a remarkable multi-generational farm in the P*e Dee, shared his inspiring journey. He recalled how his Granddaddy, a WWII veteran, entrusted the legacy of the farm to his Father (Steve), and subsequently to him and his brother (Steven). Jason’s talk illuminated the many challenges farmers face today, resonating deeply with all of us. His voice matters. Zan, from TomlinsonAg, his voice matters. Furman, from Ingram Lumber, his voice matters. And, the dedicated team at WestRock, their voices matter. This is the essence of agribusiness. This is the heart of South Carolina.
