What an incredible time celebrating public education!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who joined us in Kansas City for MSBA’s Annual Conference. From meaningful collaboration and great fellowship to the shared commitment that brings us together, this conference was a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish when we work together for Missouri’s public schools, students, and communities. 🏫

🏈 And what a way to celebrate our champions for public education! Hosting our Champions for Public Education Banquet at Arrowhead Stadium made the evening even more special as we honored just a few of the amazing people who dedicate their time, talent, and passion every day to helping our schools and children succeed. These champions make a difference every day, and it was a privilege to celebrate them!

👏 A HUGE shoutout to the incredible MSBA staff whose hard work, dedication, and attention to detail made this amazing event possible. So much happens behind the scenes to bring everyone together, and we are grateful for a team that goes above and beyond!

Thank you for the conversations, the connections, the inspiration and, most importantly, your unwavering commitment to public education. Together, we are stronger, and together, we are making a difference for Missouri’s children.

🎉 BIG WINS FOR LITTLE LEARNERS!👏 Congratulations to Jefferson City, Brentwood, and School of the Osage for earning the 2026 MSBA FutureBuilders Early Childhood Education Programs of the Year Award!

They are being recognized for their innovative approaches to expanding high-quality early learning.

The awards were presented tonight at the MSBA Annual Conference in Kansas City.
Because when we invest in our youngest learners, we invest in a brighter future for everyone!

Congratulations to Sharon Sherwood, whose decades of dedication to students, schools, and her community embody the spirit of MSBA's Paul Morris Community Service Award.

With 23 years as a Missouri public teacher, including 13 years as an elementary principal, and 18 years serving on the Platte County R-3 School Board, Sharon’s commitment to public education runs deep.

Thank you, Sharon, for a lifetime of leadership, service and unwavering dedication to Missouri’s public schools and the communities they serve.

I’m happy to be back home in Kirkwood, but I had a very rewarding time at my 3rd Missouri School Boards' Association Annual Conference! Several of my fellow board members and I attended numerous sessions on topics that will help us learn, grow, and lead our district to the next level of success!

Dr. Sharonica Hardin-Bartley has been named Missouri's 2027 Superintendent of the Year.
"I am an example of what is possible with hard work," says Dr. Hardin-Bartley, superintendent of University City. In her powerful, heartfelt speech at MSBA's Annual Conference, she said our assignment is "to show up for our children every single day."
