Central Carolina Community Foundation

Central Carolina Community Foundation Central Carolina Community Foundation is a nonprofit organization serving 11 Midlands counties through collaborative philanthropy.

At the Central Carolina Community Foundation, we strive to increase philanthropic activity in the Midlands by promoting and facilitating philanthropy. Together with our donors, we are one of the largest funders of nonprofits in the region. Since our founding in 1984, we have awarded more than $240 million in grants and scholarships designed to invest back into the Midlands community. The Foundatio

n collaborates with the individuals, families, businesses, and organizations of the Midlands to create a variety of funds, grants, and scholarships. This community collaboration has helped us accrue more than $180 million in assets, including more than 500 funds that are strategically awarded for maximum reinvestment back into the Midlands.

On September 26, 2024, Hurricane Helene became the largest natural disaster on record in South Carolina. Nearly two years after it made landfall, our state is still rebuilding.

The One SC Fund: Hurricane Helene Long-Term Recovery is currently open, and June 30 is the last day to donate in support of disaster recovery.

The funds contributed, in addition to a matching grant from the Center for Disaster Philanthropy, will support nonprofits helping South Carolina rebuild and recover from long-term damage. Contribute to ongoing recovery efforts and help communities rebuild by donating at OneSCFund.org.

Recently, our President and CEO, Georgia Mjartan, was invited and honored to speak at the Ford Foundation as part of the Fund for Shared Insight gathering in New York City.

Georgia joined national leaders in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector to discuss the power of listening to the people and communities we serve. Her remarks highlighted how stakeholder feedback and community voices help shape stronger programs, better outcomes, and more responsive philanthropy.

We’re grateful she had the opportunity to share how impactful listening is, especially for the people most affected by the work done through nonprofit organizations, including those impacted by the work we continue to do through Central Carolina Community Foundation.

It was so exciting to see how elected officials showed up for their community at the Midlands Gives Day Block Party! Thank you to the city and county leaders from 11 counties across the Midlands who participated in the Elected Officials Challenge. From ball toss to Simon Says and more, your enthusiasm and community spirit helped make the day unforgettable!

Each participating official chose a nonprofit to be the recipient of a $500 grant from Central Carolina Community Foundation, further supporting the organizations that work every day to strengthen our communities.

To all of the elected officials who joined us, thank you for taking the time to engage with the community, support local nonprofits, and help make Midlands Gives Day a celebration of connection and generosity across the Midlands!
