The South Carolina Association of Taxpayers today announced that Katon Dawson has been named Chairman of the organization, bringing decades of policy and grassroots leadership experience to the state’s leading taxpayer advocacy group.

Dawson succeeds Don Weaver, who led the organization for decades with distinction and greatly expanded its influence in key policy debates across the state while strengthening its Taxpayer Hero program.

For more than three decades, the South Carolina Association of Taxpayers has worked for the citizens of our state to promote: responsible government lower taxes fiscal accountability. S**T has long supported policies that encourage economic growth, protect family budgets, and ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely. Today, S**T is renewing its mission — recognizing leaders who stand up for taxpayers and advocating for policies that keep South Carolina competitive and affordable.
