We are delighted to have Jaclyn Sexauer sharing her talent and expertise as our special guest dancer at “Opera in Concert”!
Jaclyn Sexauer is a dancer and multidisciplinary performer whose work bridges concert dance, athletic performance, and theatrical storytelling.
A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University with dual degrees in Dance and Exercise Science, she has performed across stage and stadium settings in jazz, contemporary, pom, and musical theatre. Her background includes serving as captain of the SEMO Sundancers and performing in collegiate dance concert productions, where she trained with accredited choreographers and developed a love for creativity and storytelling through movement. Her professional credits include the St. Louis Ambush dance team, St. Louis Battlehawks Kawkaw Crew, and she was a finalist for Kansas City Chiefs Cheerleaders.
Outside of dance, Jaclyn serves as Miss Missouri Volunteer, advocating for veterans' mental health through her service initiative The War Inside, while promoting volunteerism, education, and women's empowerment. A four-time Presidential Service Award recipient, published author, and national scholar in kinesiology, she is passionate about the intersection of artistry and athleticism, as well as building confidence and resilience in young women through movement.
Jaclyn is honored to be part of this production and grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the beauty, drama, and collaborative spirit of opera. Having spent most of her childhood in the Columbia Youth Choirs, an extension of the Columbia Chorale, this feels especially meaningful and full circle!
