The South Carolina State Guard proudly supports our youth and established the Swamp Fox Explorer Post 1670.

The Post is dedicated to leadership and character development both mentally and physically through the State Guard training practices.

Drill this Saturday, February 5th at Gramby Armory. Report at 0730. We are gearing up for Spring & Summer and need to get some events planned. Bring your ideas!

Saturday’s drill started off with our explorers learning the rank insignias. Calvert, a rising junior with ROTC experience, quizzes Parker, a rising freshman.
In the afternoon, we went to view the unveiling of the new virtual training system at the Richland County Sheriffs Dept. The SCSG PMD will be training on the system. Explorer Parker got to try out the system for himself.

Military Explorer Post 1670 The Swamp Fox, we are looking for active scouts to join the South Carolina State Guard military explorer post in Columbia. If you are interested in attending one of our drills to see what it is all about, call LTC Sims at 8032874204 and leave a message I will return your call. You can also call the armory on Gramby lane Columbia, S.C. We need anyone that would like to be a member of our Honor Guard unit. We meet one Saturday a month and this need not interfere with any other scout duties.

Congratulations to our very own General Leon Lott for being named SHERIFF OF THE YEAR 2021 by the National Sheriff's Association. Officially titled the NSA Ferris E. Lucas Award for Sheriff of the Year, the award will be presented during NSA's annual national convention in June. This is the first time a South Carolina Sheriff has been selected for this honor.
