In "Leadership in Action: Investing in the Future of PALTC Medicine," Foundation Chair Dr. Cari Levy highlights how donor support helps expand leadership development, advocacy, and workforce opportunities for clinicians across the PALTC continuum.

Research That Advances. Care That Matters. πŸ’™

Since 2022, the Foundation for Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine has supported 5 major investigator-initiated research projects focused on improving care quality, resident outcomes, and workforce leadership across PALTC settings.

Foundation-supported findings have included:
🫁 12.1% fewer COVID-19 resident cases in nursing homes with upgraded HVAC systems
πŸ₯ Reduced hospitalizations associated with Certified Medical Director presence
πŸ“‹ Strong evidence supporting frailty assessment in post-acute care planning
🎡 Reduced behavioral symptoms among residents with dementia through meaningful activity interventions

These projects have also contributed to scholarly publications, presentations, and continued innovation in post-acute and long-term care medicine.

For 25 years, the Futures Program has helped shape the next generation of leaders in post-acute and long-term care medicine. At PALTC26, we were proud to celebrate this milestone with a special luncheon honoring the alumni, mentors, faculty, and supporters who have helped grow the program since 2001.

More than 1,500 residents, fellows, advanced practice providers, and allied health professionals have participated in Futures over our 25 year history, with many going on to become leaders within PALTC medicine and beyond.

As the need for competent, compassionate, and committed healthcare professionals continues to grow, the Futures Program remains an investment in the future of quality care. Through an immersive learning experience at the annual conference and year-round mentorship through Futures Connect, participants gain the knowledge, relationships, and inspiration to build careers serving those in post-acute and long-term care settings.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Futures Program over the last 25 years and helped strengthen the PALTC workforce for generations to come.
