Make an Artist Foundation has been awarded the Platinum Seal of Transparency!

The Platinum Seal of Transparency is the highest award given by Candid and puts Make an Artist Foundation in the top 0.1% of charities nationally in terms of transparency. This award means that we share clear information with the public about our goals, strategies, capabilities, achievements, and progress.

As a result, you can easily find in-depth financial information about our organization and can be confident that your contribution will bring art into more children’s lives.

In a Child-Friendly Space in the Bekaa Valley of Lebanon, young Syrian refugees use art to express their feelings of hope.

Mayass, age 11, draws herself in the past, present, and future. The first panel shows her playing with her toys in Syria when she was younger. In the middle panel, she shows the school she now attends.

“In the future, I would like to be a bird and live in freedom.” - Mayass

We teamed up with art educator John Khai to develop and sustain divergent thinking and creativity for children and youth in marginalized communities. Make an Artist Foundation provided art supplies for 1,200 students at 14 schools on the Myanmar/Thai Border.

This month, we provided art supplies for Voices of Peace. An art project to help children and families affected by the ongoing war in Colombia. 🎨

Millions of families have had to abandon their homes due to armed conflict in Colombia. To help heal from the trauma of war, refugees and members of the community painted a canvas mural at the Center for Memory, Peace, and Reconciliation in the city of Bogota.

Thank you to all those involved!

Art educator Miss Perez and her students at Meeting Street Brentwood Elementary School are having a blast with their new art supplies! 🎨

We wish a new creative beginning to all teachers and students for the academic year 2023! 🙂

We are bringing creativity to over 630 students at the School of Hope in Jocotenango, Guatemala!

This February, Make an Artist Foundation is enhancing art programs for children at Education for the Children Foundation’s School of Hope. In Guatemala, 54% of the population is estimated to live below the poverty line. Art is a powerful tool to help children in poverty develop skills, build their confidence, and create a better future for themselves.

We need donations by November 10th. Please donate at www.makeanartist.org

Physical donations of new paintbrushes, pastels, watercolors, pencils, etc. are welcome!

“This is my mother, father, and brother by our house in Syria. In the future, I want to be a teacher. That’s a cabinet with books in the classroom. I’ll give gifts to all the students.” - Yasmin, age 9
