As their website states: They don't call it SunDrop Country for nothing, and Saturday in Historic Downtown Pulaski did not disappoint.

Thanks to everyone who stopped at our booth and talked firearm safety with us. Showing up, having important conversations and finding common ground is what it's all about. 🎶

See you again soon, Pulaski.

📍 Stay tuned for where we'll be next.

Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up safe.

The scary reality is that firearm deaths are the leading cause of mortality in children. That's why secure storage, education, and safe practices matter.

When fi****ms are stored securely and handled responsibly, we can prevent tragedies that take young lives and forever change families and communities.

By working together across all 95 counties, we can create a safer Tennessee🤝

Community safety starts with everyday responsibility.

Everyone has a part to play in safe firearm storage. Practicing secure storage will prevent tragedies in communities across Tennessee.

By storing fi****ms locked, unloaded, and inaccessible to children, teens, and unauthorized individuals, you are taking a step towards protecting lives.

Share lifesaving information with your friends, families, and neighbors about the importance of safe gun storage. Find resources at https://zurl.co/ClIIr

This past week, Voices for a Safer Tennessee had the opportunity to connect with communities at the National Moo Fest and summer reading programs at Bolivar, Paris, and Fayette Co. Libraries.

Across Tennessee, conversations about responsible firearm ownership and safety are happening in community spaces - where people can come together, learn, and build understanding.

We appreciate everyone who took the time to connect with us, and we look forward to continuing this work statewide. Follow along to see where we go next📍

If you've ever owned a firearm, you know it comes with responsibility.

One of our own — a Marine veteran and lifelong firearm owner — put it plainly: "You want to be educated. You want to know how to use your firearm and know how to use it safely."

That's the Tennessee way. Taking care of each other. Looking out for your community. Making sure the next generation is safe. Safer TN works alongside firearm owners, veterans, and communities in all 95 counties to help reduce preventable firearm-related tragedies.

Because protecting our families is personal for all of us. 🤝

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Katy Dieckhaus, our Community Engagement Coordinator, who has been named one of Nfocus Magazine's Fresh Faces of Philanthropy for 2026. 🧡

Katy's journey to this work is deeply personal. After losing her daughter Evelyn in the Covenant School tragedy on March 27, 2023, she stepped forward as one of Safer TN's most dedicated volunteers. Last year, after 17 years as a pediatric occupational therapist, she joined our staff full-time — bringing her clinical expertise and lived experience to the work of building safer communities across Tennessee.

Katy is a bridge-builder in every sense of the word. We are grateful every day to have her on this team. 📸:Nfocus Magazine Read the feature: https://zurl.co/9Eo5D

Signal Mountain and the CASA Rodeo — different settings, one shared conversation.

Over the last week we had the privilege of sitting down with the Signal Mountain Lions Club and connecting with the community at the CASA Rodeo. Whether around a table or at a festival, Tennesseans are showing up and leaning into conversations about responsible firearm ownership and firearm safety. That's what common ground looks like.

Thank you to both communities for your warmth and willingness to engage. Every conversation makes Tennessee safer. 🙏

📍 Stay tuned for where we'll be next.

Did you know firearm-related tragedies cost Tennessee billions of dollars each year — and that's just the economic toll?

Voices for a Safer Tennessee recently partnered with the Boyd Center for Business and Economic Research - UT to develop a first-of-its-kind interactive dashboard that puts the full human and economic impact of firearm tragedies in Tennessee right at your fingertips.

We hosted a webinar walking through everything the dashboard reveals — and the data is eye-opening. Explore the dashboard and learn what the evidence shows about the true cost of firearm-related tragedies in our state.
