SCDOT TO HOLD PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING ABOUT
PHASE 3C OF CAROLINA CROSSROADS PROJECT
Columbia, S.C. (February 3, 2026) – The South Carolina Department of Transportation will
hold a drop-in public about Phase 3C of the Carolina Crossroads Project on Tuesday,
February 17, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree, 2100 Bush River Road, Columbia,
SC 29210.
SCDOT's multiphase Carolina Crossroads project is designed to reconfigure and improve
the I-20/I-26/I-126 interchanges and surrounding 14 miles of Interstate corridor in Lexington
and Richland counties.
This drop-in style event on Tuesday, February 17 will provide the public with an opportunity
to review design plans and learn about anticipated traffic impacts during construction of
Phase 3C. Members of the project team will be available throughout the event to answer
questions and discuss the project one-on-one with attendees.
Carolina Crossroads Project Phase 3C includes the replacement of the I-20 bridges over the
Saluda River and the CSX railroad. Phase 3C includes widening a portion of I-20, between
US 378
(Sunset Boulevard) and Bush River Road, to accommodate future lane additions in
upcoming phases of the project.
Phase 3C will prepare the corridor for seamless connection to future phase work and
provide new bridges that meet current design standards. Construction work will begin in
early 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2029.

Gov. McMaster just called a State of Emergency for SC before the Ice storm hits. Wrap your outside pipes and faucets with towels (you can use the foam pool noodles cut in half too); let your hot and cold indoor faucets drip; do NOT use your oven to warm the house; make sure your car is gassed up, cell phones charged, etc. Hope you all stay safe and warm. Stay off the roads until it passes.

Richland County is moving into the third phase of updating its Comprehensive Plan for 2025, called "Reimagine Richland." This plan will serve as a long-term guide for future development policies. The process is divided into three phases: 1. Discovery Phase, 2. Plan Development Phase, and 3. Plan Direction. The County is currently in the "Plan Direction Phase," which presents the Policy Recommendations & Action Plan and the Priority Investment Element.

This Public forum presentation will be held starting on Wednesday, August 27, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM (Presentation starts at 6:00 pm) at 701 Whaley Street, with additional meetings listed below.

Residents and businesses of the County are encouraged to attend, participate, and share their ideas. These meetings will provide information about the plan, proposed policy recommendations, and identify priority investment areas for the plan. Staff will be available for questions or comments.

For those unable to attend, more information about the project is available on the County's website www.reimaginerichland.com. This is a great opportunity to be part of shaping the future of Richland County.
