☕️ Coffee, Doughnuts, and DNA… Oh My! 🍩

The 53rd Annual SC Genealogical Workshop is officially in the books, and wow, what a weekend! On July 17 & 18, we gathered to track down ancestors, swap stories, and eat our weight in BBQ. 🕵️‍♂️🐷

We had 14 incredible speakers school us on everything from DAR analysis and real estate papers to FamilySearch, DNA, and the black magic of transcribing, abstracting, and extracting. We even peeked into the future with AI, and got a VIP, behind-the-scenes tour of the Archives records collection. (Yes, looking at old paper is our idea of a wild weekend!) 📜✨

Of course, no family history hunt is complete without fuel. We survived the workshop thanks to endless coffee, doughnuts, sandwiches, fresh salads, and a serious amount of BBQ.

Shoutout to everyone who scored big with the vendors, walked away with door prizes, or won the bidding wars at the silent auction! 🎁🏆

A MASSIVE thank you to Shelby and her amazing team! You made this year’s workshop incredibly fun, super smooth, and wildly informative.

As always, we’re heading home with full bellies, empty coffee cups, and a ton of new research tricks to try out on our family trees. Watch out ancestors, we're coming for you! 🌳💻
