Come be part of Artists in Conversation as part of Building Bridges Through Art 2026, presented in partnership with the Women's Rights and Empowerment Network - WREN.

This special community conversation brings together participating artists to share the inspiration, lived experiences, and creative processes behind the works featured in the exhibition. Inspired by WREN’s Status of Women and Girls in South Carolina: 2025 Research Findings, the exhibition explores critical themes including healthcare access, economic inequality, childcare, advocacy, and community support systems.

Visitors will hear directly from artists as they reflect on how their work responds to issues of gender justice, equity, and collective action—and how art can help build awareness, connection, and change.

🎉🎨 Now Open: Building Bridges Through Art 2026 with the Women's Rights & Empowerment Network (WREN)! 🎨🎉

The work is up, the gallery is ready, and we're excited to welcome the community a day early to experience Building Bridges Through Art 2026, presented by Stormwater Studios in partnership with the Women's Rights & Empowerment Network (WREN).

This year's exhibition features the work of 23 artists from across South Carolina whose artwork was inspired by The Status of Women and Girls in South Carolina: 2025 Research Findings. Through diverse artistic approaches, these artists respond to issues including healthcare access, unequal pay, childcare challenges, and access to essential community resources—creating work that reflects lived experience, sparks dialogue, and imagines pathways toward equity and collective action.

Closing out the month of May, Meet the Artist: Craig S. Glass on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from Noon–2:00 p.m.

Spend the afternoon with Columbia-based and internationally award-winning photographer Craig S. Glass of Ambrotype Visuals as he discusses the inspiration and creative process behind Perspectives on the Timeless. Through striking monochrome and color photography, the exhibition explores memory, emotion, history, railroads, architecture, and the enduring presence of places and objects that connect past and present.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artist, ask questions, and experience the exhibition through conversations about what makes photography truly timeless. Described by Glass as “Where Fine Art Meets the Rails,” his carefully composed digital photographs transport viewers across place, memory, and time.

This dynamic session features TWO live models — one for figure drawing and one for portrait work — offering artists the opportunity to practice, experiment, and grow in a welcoming environment. 🌊🎨 CALL FOR ENTRY: Building Bridges Through Art 2026 with Congaree Riverkeeper 🎨🌊

Stormwater Studios is now accepting submissions from South Carolina artists for the next Building Bridges Through Art exhibition in partnership with Congaree Riverkeeper.

Inspired by the theme Clean Water, Healthy Rivers, this community-centered exhibition invites artists working in all media to explore the environmental, cultural, and community significance of the Broad, Lower Saluda, and Congaree Rivers.

Artists are encouraged to submit work that:
💧 Reflects connections between people and rivers
🌿 Explores conservation and environmental stewardship
🦅 Highlights ecosystems and wildlife habitats
⚠️ Responds to threats facing waterways
🚣 Celebrates recreation and shared natural resources
💬 Inspires awareness, dialogue, and community action

This exhibition is part of the Building Bridges Through Art series, which connects artists with nonprofit organizations working to strengthen communities and address important social and environmental issues through art, conversation, and collaboration.
