As it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we would like to remind you that anyone of any gender can experience Breast Cancer. Cis women are generally taught to do self-exams early on. Many trans women have not been taught how to do self-breast exams, or encouraged to get mammograms, both of which can help with early detection. Many trans men, may not realize that unless they have had a total mastectomy, they still need to do breast self-exams and get mammograms. Cis men may not be as likely to experience Breast Cancer, but it can happen, so if something feels like an unusual lump there, consult your doctor ASAP!

If you are a person thinking about coming out, a person newly out, a parent of a child who has come out to you, or a community member who is looking to be supportive, or someone who has been out for awhile but needs support, we are here to help. Hours are currently by appointment, with Community Meals & Social Events 2nd and 4th Sundays from 5-8 PM

Reminder that Sunday, Oct. 12, 2025 is our Coming Out Day Celebration Talent Showcase! Prizes will be awarded for Humorous, Heart Touching, and Unique Categories of Drag, Music, Spoken Word, Art, & Miscellaneous types of performances.

Calling all performers! Are you a performance artist, a budding drag performer, a singer, poet, or story teller? We would love to see your performance! You are invited to sign up to participate in our Talent Share at our Coming Out Day Celebration, Sunday, October 12, 2025, from 5 PM-8 PM! Artists, you are invited to bring art pieces to be featured during the event as well. Awards will be given to performers and artists. Categories include humorous, heart-warming, and unique. In addition to category awards, all performers and artists will also be given certificates recognizing their participation in the Rivertown Pride Center's 2025 Coming Out Day Celebration Talent Share.
