The Second Amendment Foundation and partners have filed a motion for summary judgment in Brown v. ATF, challenging the National Fi****ms Act’s registration requirements for suppressors, short-barreled rifles, and other NFA items.

Our filing explains that Congress eliminated the NFA’s tax through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, reducing it to zero dollars. With no tax, the taxing power can no longer support the Act — the only constitutional basis the Supreme Court relied on when the NFA was originally upheld.

Without a tax, the government cannot enforce the NFA’s registration scheme or rely on alternative powers like the Commerce Clause. The brief also argues that these arms are in common use and protected under the Second Amendment.

SAF is asking the court to declare the NFA’s tax-less registration system unconstitutional.

Last night was supposed to be a turning point — a chance for pro-gun, pro-freedom candidates to push back against years of encroaching legislation.

Instead, Maine, Virginia, and New Jersey doubled down on gun control.

🔴 Maine voters approved a new statewide red flag law — now paired with their existing “yellow flag” policy.

🔴 Virginia elected a full anti-gun ticket:
- Abigail Spanberger (Governor)
- Ghazala Hashmi (Lt. Governor)
- Jay Jones (Attorney General) — yes, the same Jay Jones caught texting about wishing death on a lawmaker’s children.

🔴 New Jersey stuck with Mikie Sherrill, a staunch gun-control Democrat, who defeated pro-gun challenger Jack Ciattarelli.

Even New York City added fuel to the fire, electing a man who’s called for a total ban on fi****ms and the abolition of prisons.

The takeaway?
Gun rights just took a beating in several key states — and it’s not just about them. These policies spread. Court battles follow. Taxpayers foot the bill.

We may be in for a long four years of lawsuits and legislative fights — but this isn’t the time to get quiet.
It’s the time to train, prepare, and vote smarter than ever before.

"No one will ever get that close to me." An exposed pistol is a powerful inducement for some...that thing is big cash money on the street. And despite the number of successful gun grab videos I post I still encounter the "A gun will make them think twice" crowd.

Folks, they aren't like us, to quote William Aprill. What we see as a deterrent is absolutely a motivation for others. Keep your secrets. Let the sudden appearance of a pistol be the Ultimate Surprise.
