Did you know?

Approximately 6 out of every 100 people will experience PTSD at some point in their lives.

While PTSD is often associated with military service, many cases are linked to experiences such as abuse, violence, traumatic loss, serious accidents, and other life-changing events.

The more we understand PTSD, the better we can support those who may be struggling.

Awareness matters. Compassion matters. Support matters. 💚

💚 COMMUNITY UPDATE 💚

Because of your generosity, we have already raised $643 toward helping a mom in our community avoid foreclosure. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared, and prayed.

Our goal is $2,119, which means we still need to raise $1,476 by June 7, 2026 to help her get caught up on her mortgage and prevent the foreclosure process from moving forward.

At Girl Get Up Society, we believe that when one woman faces hardship, we show up. Through our Girl Smile Program, we’re asking our village to help us cross the finish line and provide this family with stability during a difficult season.

📝 Memo: MOM

For transparency, all funds will be paid directly to the mortgage company on her behalf. No funds will be distributed directly to the individual.

Every dollar helps. Every share matters. Let’s keep showing this mom that she’s not alone. 💚

As many of you know, we are living in extremely difficult times and the economy has become increasingly expensive each day.

Our community needs us right now ‼️‼️‼️

A mom from one of groups is facing a mortgage crisis. She is currently 30 days behind, with a total balance of $2,119.

To prevent eviction, she needs $2,119 by June 7, 2026.

Through our Girl Smile program, we want to rally together and cover the $2,119 needed to stop the foreclosure process.

If you’re able and would like to support her, please send your contribution to:

Put “Mom” in the memo.

For transparency, Girl Get Up Society will pay the bill directly to her mortgage company on her behalf. Funds will not be given directly to the individual.

June is PTSD Awareness Month. 🩵

When people hear PTSD, they often think of one specific experience or one specific group of people.

But PTSD can affect anyone.

Survivors of abuse.
Violence.
Traumatic loss.
Accidents.
Childhood trauma.
And so much more.

This month, we’ll be sharing information, resources, coping tools, and conversations to help raise awareness and reduce stigma.

Healing is possible. And no one should have to navigate it alone.

Support is the New Strength. 💚

Period poverty impacts mental wellness.💚🫶🏾

When people lack access to period products, the effects can go far beyond their cycle. It impacts confidence, concentration, attendance, stress levels, and overall emotional well-being.

Menstrual health and mental health are both essential, and neither should be ignored.

This month, Girl Get Up Society and Revolution Red are standing together to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and remind our community that everyone deserves access, dignity, and support.

Because support isn’t weakness.
Support is the new strength.

After a full week, here’s your reminder…

Not every moment has to be productive.
Not every day has to be heavy.

Make time this weekend for the things that make you feel like YOU again.

Rest. Laugh. Binge watch TV. Call your people. Put your phone down for a little while.

Mental health is also found in the small moments — the joy, the quiet, the connection, the reset.

We hope you take care of yourself this weekend. 💚

Support is the New Strength.

This past weekend, our Girl Power girls spent 2 nights and 3 days in Charleston for our 2nd Annual Mental Health Awareness Month Lock-In 💕✨

And what a weekend it was.

From workshops and real conversations to karaoke, Uno tournaments, face masks, walking tacos, late-night laughs, and walks by the water — the girls had space to learn, connect, reflect, and just be girls.

Throughout the weekend, licensed mental health professionals led sessions on:
✨ Healthy vs. unhealthy relationships
✨ The comparison trap & social media
✨ What to do when your biggest challenge is YOU
✨ Identifying their strengths through art therapy

A huge thank you to our amazing facilitators:
💕 Yvonne Lee, LPCA
💕 Dr. Sierra Barnes, LPCA
💕 Chelsea Johnson, LISW-CP
💕 Marshella Gore, LPC

We’re also grateful to Joint Base Charleston Short Stay for hosting us and helping create such a beautiful experience for our girls.

These weekends are always a reminder that safe spaces, sisterhood, mental health support, and community matter. And judging by the laughs, memories, and “can we stay longer?” requests… we’d say this one was a success!

Support is the New Strength. 💕🫶🏾
