SCDNR's State Bat Biologist, Jennifer Kindel, and Three Oaks Engineering's veteran Bat Biologist will be the guest speakers. They will team up to speak about bats in South Carolina, including bat habitat in SC, regulations to protect these species, and bat survey methodologies.

Please join us at Saluda Shoals Environmental Education Center for lunch and networking. Lunch will be provided for all in-person attendees. A virtual option is also available. He will be speaking about his program, what they do, major invasive flora and fauna species in SC, problems they cause, challenges their group faces, current and future initiatives, and how the SC environmental community can help Clemson. Join us for our next lunch & learn this Friday, August 27 at noon. Our feature presentation is by Joseph Inman from FEMA Environmental and Historic Preservation (EHP). Joseph is an Environmental Specialist with FEMA and is part of the FEMA Integration Team (FIT) in Columbia. He will be speaking about FEMA EHP and FIT, their roles and responsibilities, and their NEPA policies and practices as it relates to FEMA and grant funding. There will also be a Q&A opportunity with Joseph after his presentation, and we will be providing some updates on the development of our new NAEP Chapter. NAEP-SC has officially published our first newsletter! This past July commemorates 1 year as an official NAEP chapter, and a fitting time to share some history of our organization in our first newsletter. Check out Issue 1 to learn about the birth of our association and how much we have established in 1 year as an officially affiliated NAEP chapter.
