AYRA Summer Rec All Star Tryouts!!!
Each spring AYRA holds tryouts for 8U, 10U, 12U & 15U Rec All-Star teams. AYRA All-Star teams consist of the best recreational baseball players in each age group.
All players are welcome to tryout regardless of their rec program affiliation provided they are not currently registered with a travel team.
These All-Star teams typically compete in 3-4 local tournaments throughout the summer against other recreational All-Star teams (attendance at all tournaments is not mandatory). These tournaments are an extremely fun way to keep the season going after spring.

Tryouts will consist of 5 major skills which will be evaluated by our head coaches:
Pitching: players will pitch 10-15 pitches to a catcher and are evaluated on accuracy, speed and ability to throw multiple pitches.
Fielding / Throwing: players will be on the field while coaches hit them ground balls. They are evaluated on fielding form, throwing form and arm strength.
Hitting: Players will either be in the batting changes or on an open field with a coach pitching to them. They are evaluated on quality of contact, form and power.
Base Running: Players will be evaluated on speed and base running mechanics
Any cancellations or changes will be updated on our page
Please contact the coaches directly if you cannot make one of the dates.
Please arrive 20-30 minutes prior to the start of the tryout to get warmed up and for the parents to get signed in. In addition, please register for the tryouts so we can get an idea of the number of kids attending - there is no fee for registering.
