First ward folks, remember to vote YES to recall Nick Knoth for First Ward on April 2. There are far too many important land use decisions to be made by city council for someone who works for the state realtors association to sit on the council in an ordinary year, and 2024 is anything but ordinary. Boone County and the City of Columbia are collaborating on a landmark housing study that WILL be used to guide decisions on how we address the issue of affordable housing into the future and those decisions WILL be made during Nick Knoth's term. Does anybody think it's a good idea to have a lobbyist for realtors making those decisions? I don't. Recall Nick Knoth and help

After making a complaint against five Columbia city council members for a potential violation of RSMo 115.646, Hold CoMo Accountable's Anthony Willroth was stunned to uncover a clip of city attorney Nancy Thompson advising city council in 2020 on this exact statute in a manner that appears to validate the complaint. It may well be that the statute was not explicitly violated, that is for the Secretary of State's office to determine. What is clear, however, is that there is clear merit to the idea that Anthony Willroth has presented. Hold CoMo Accountable was dismayed to see such campaigning from the dais and awaits the conclusion of this complaint.

Anthony Willroth of Hold CoMo Accountable has filed an election violation complaint against several Columbia city council members and the mayor.

After viewing a city council meeting earlier this month, a Columbia man claims he filed an election violation complaint against several council members for comments they made.

One part of our core mission statement has been to advocate against and challenge Missouri Senate Bill 26 (2021), the police officer's bill of rights. This law grossly undermines Missouri citizens' ability to hold police departments publicly accountable. The Columbia city council unanimously voted to change city ordinances to fall in line with sb26 at the advice of the city's legal department. Hold CoMo Accountable has been steadfast in our insistence that Columbia should have launched a legal challenge to the bill, as the city of St. Louis did. Today, the city of St. Louis' challenge to sb26 is before the Missouri Supreme Court. Keep your eyes on this. We will be reading the decision closely and encourage everyone to do the same. It's a shame that Columbia was unable to see the way forward and unwilling to represent its citizens' rights as fearlessly as other cities in the state.

The Missouri Supreme Court will hear arguments today for not one, but two court cases against the state beginning at 9 a.m. in Jefferson City.

Interesting opinion from Tom Dresner here. Hold CoMo Accountable continues to call for the resignation of city counselor Nancy Thompson. When you have a former police officer saying that Columbia's legal department is creating a credibility issue for the police department, it couldn't be clearer.

In 1964, Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart was asked what his test for obscenity was.

If anyone tries to tell you that Columbia City Council "unsealed" the ARPA process last night, they are lying to you. Most assuredly, the motion Nick Knoth raised and council passed does not satisfy our demand for transparency. We will have a statement soon.

Last night, two Columbia Missouri Police Department officers restrained a man while one of them maced, tased and beat him until he was bloodied. We need accountability.

Bonus document dump: complaints the city has received about homeless encampments. Also probably a good lesson that any communications with the city are sunshine-able and NOT anonymous.
