Black Maternal Health Week may have ended, but the work, the stories, and the impact continue to live far beyond one week.

From the Marketplace, to the conversations, to the joy, healing, advocacy, and celebration at the Gala… this week reminded me exactly why this work matters. It reminded me that when Black women are centered, supported, and seen, transformation happens.

This recap video holds just a glimpse of what we experienced together. Every face, every hug, every vendor, every speaker, every supporter, every volunteer — you helped make this movement feel alive.

To everyone who showed up for Black Maternal Health Week 2026: thank you. Thank you for believing in the vision. Thank you for choosing community. Thank you for continuing to fight for safer, healthier, and more supported outcomes for Black mothers and families.

We’re still here. Still building. Still growing. And this is only the beginning. 🖤

Happy Mother’s Day to every mother, grandmother, bonus mom, grieving mother, birth mother, expecting mother, and woman nurturing others through love every single day.

Today, we honor the strength, softness, sacrifice, resilience, and legacy carried through motherhood in all its forms.

At the BLK Maternal Health Collective, we know motherhood is powerful, beautiful, and life-changing — but we also know it deserves support, protection, rest, community, and care.

We celebrate the mothers raising generations while healing themselves at the same time.
We celebrate the women advocating for safer births and healthier futures.
We celebrate the mothers no longer physically with us, whose stories and love continue to shape our work.

May today remind you that you are seen.
You are valued.
You are worthy of care too.

From our collective to yours — Happy Mother’s Day. 🖤

The work continues. The love remains. The legacy lives on.

We are incredibly grateful to the Richland County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for their generous donation to the BLK Maternal Health Collective.

Your continued support is more than a contribution, it’s an investment in the lives of Black mothers, babies, and families in our community. Because of partners like you, we are able to expand our impact, provide resources, and continue the work of advancing birth equity.

Thank you for standing with us, believing in this mission, and showing up for our community in such a meaningful way.

The work continues and we’re better because of you. 🖤

Still taking it all in…

Friday night’s Birthworker & Advocate Awards Gala was a sold out, breathtaking experience. A room filled with elevation, elegance, and the powerful presence of those who serve our communities with heart.

To witness birth workers being honored—nominated by their own community—that’s what made it even more meaningful. Whew… what a night.

I couldn’t let the weekend pass without sharing a glimpse of this moment. A more formal recap is coming soon, but for now… just gratitude.

Thank you partners and sponsors for your support in the work!

Black Maternal Health Week 2026 — truly one to remember.
The work continues. 🤍
